Patricia, a Vancouver-based artist originally from the Philippines, brings over 20 years of local insight to her vibrant work. As a self-taught artist, she channels her determination into every bold brushstroke, crafting rich visual stories that explore the depth of the human psyche. Her art frequently features women, celebrating their freedom and authenticity as protagonists in their own lives.
January 2023 marked a pivotal moment when Patricia discovered the Milan Art Institute's Mastery Program. What was once an "unreachable dream" of art school became a reality at 50, as she took a leap of faith to embrace her true identity as a fine artist. This journey not only helped her find her unique artistic voice but also ignited a passion to encourage others, through her visual art, to be their most authentic selves. Beyond the canvas,
Patricia is a resourceful "DIY" enthusiast, having independently mastered video editing with Adobe Premiere and graphic design during the pandemic. Her Bachelor's in International Business further solidifies her ambition to establish her own art business. With her recent graduation from the Milan Art Institute, Patricia is now on the precipice of realizing her dream of a full-time artistic career.
My Process
“I am drawn to very heroic subjects who have overcome adversity ; showing their power and courage and inner strength, they are the catalysts of everyday living. Whether I paint a bird, or a specific subject, I try to paint it as if it was totally free and authentic to its nature. This is expressed in a very impressionist way with bold brush strokes and a bright and lively color story. My goal is to uplift my viewers and allow them to realize the true nature of the subject.”
